Puget Sound and Islands > Bellingham Area
Whatcom Creek and the Bridge

It was a rainy day but I had errands in Bellingham and since I had time I went to the park. Despite the weather there were lots of other people out. The last few days of rain have increased the volume of the creek, falls and even the storm water flue near the bridge. It was a natural waterworks day. It also brought out some intense color in the autumn leaves that are hanging on.

The trails are in their usual good condition. I parked in the lower lot at the end of the Silver Beach Road. There are very nice restrooms there and kiosks with natural and historical information about the area.
