Annette Lake — Sunday, Nov. 9, 2025

Snoqualmie Region > Snoqualmie Pass
steps! Original log bridge visible on right. Most steps are log with dirt, not this fancy

People aren't kidding about the potholes on the short road from I-90 to the trailhead. At least one is big enough to qualify as a small pond. They are all pretty much avoidable with some careful dodging. Parking lot was full when we arrived at 11, although enough people come and go I'm sure spots open pretty frequently. When we got back at 3 it was only about 30 percent full. We parked on the road just outside the parking lot.

No snow, no obstacles or major mud, and plenty of people. No ice on the lake either. Today's lovely sunshine basically doesn't shine on this north facing trail, we just admired the sun on the cross valley views. The new steps and wider tread from recent years work makes the trail feel pretty posh!

Strava gives this hike more like 8 miles, a little less on my husband's app. But both agree on 1950 feet of elevation. So WTA's estimate is a little low for both mileage and elevation.
