Today I finally hiked the Frog Mountain trail.
We pulled up at the trailhead at 9 am.
The Index Galena road is in good shape, apart from a few potholes.
The north fork Skykomish river is raging now, the water is almost at the road level at some places.
There was a section in the road where a few rocks had fallen, be careful in that area!
There are so many waterfalls formed on the side of the road, all of them are gushing with so much water!
Washington is truly magnificent after a long rain. 🤩
The first ½ of the trail is mostly running water, nothing difficult to go over. This trail is so well manufactured, that no major problems exist in this entire trail.
There were a few tree branches fallen on the trail, I cleared them as much as I could.
There was a little bit of snow at the last 100 feet to the top of the mountain. the view was obviously outstanding, we couldn't see absolutely nothing. Covered in the fog all the time!
There are so many mushrooms on this trail.
There is a pit toilet a few feet away from the Trailhead, I didn't check it out.
Overall it was a nice day of hiking in the rain.
7.96 miles with 2195 feet of elevation gain,
2 hrs 15 mins to the top and 1 hour 45 minutes to get back!
We only saw 2 people on the way up and 1 guy with 2 dogs on our way back!
