Silver Star Mountain - Ed's Trail — Sunday, Oct. 5, 2025

Southwest Washington > Lewis River Region
Early light to the West

A 4-volcano day, maybe 5.  We definitely St. Helens, Adams, Rainier, and Hood. As for Mt. Jefferson, we cannot say definitively, that is what we were seeing.

We were the first to arrive at the trailhead (7:20am). Temps were relatively mild with strong winds.  The Fall color was not super eye-popping but was still nice.

We saw a few people after joining the Silver Star trail on the way to the summit.  There was a single person at the summit when we arrived, so we hit the southern "summit" first then headed over to the Silver Star summit as he was leaving. We had the summit to ourselves for sufficient enough time to take some photos and have a snack before heading down.

We arrived back to the TH around 10:10am. There were two vehicles in addition to ours upon arrival.  Another enjoyable day on trail!
