Joe Watt Canyon — Sunday, Nov. 16, 2025

Forecast was for rain on the west side so we drove over the pass for a dry hike. Success!! Even has times of sunshine.

Gorgeous area!! Loved the fall colors and all the variety of environments the trail took us through: prairie, woodlands, meadows with dried flowers, forest, brush, larches, and views of the valley below

Trail was easy to follow - but having the trail map downloaded beforehand was very helpful because there are lots of trail junctions.

Saw lots of evidence of animals by their tracks, droppings or skeletons left behind by hunters. Even saw some big kitty paw prints!

We didn’t see any other people all day!
