this trail is located behind the pierce county fairgrounds, in the front are shelters/barns/playground/lodge/restrooms. just park and head on back and you will latch onto a trail. the forested area is pretty small but immersive. i love tall fir trees! there is a wide rocky path that encircles the main part of the forest, but for me the trails inside of the woods were what made it fun. mostly dirt trails with rocks and roots w one nice elevated spot to go up. i saw only dog walkers today, walked about 1.5 miles.
