Trip Report

Hockinson Meadows Community Park — Thursday, Nov. 27, 2025

Southwest Washington > Vancouver Area
Start of trails from the second parking lot.

Lovely close-in option - many other families and dogs out for fresh air on Thanksgiving morning around 9AM. There was plenty of parking in the second parking lot (head straight rather than making the right into the first parking lot.) The dogs and I stopped for a walk after driving down from the Seattle area and before heading to family in Vancouver. This park feels much farther away from town than the 15 minutes from the freeway that it takes to get there.  With a longer loop on the mostly soft trail around the park, including the loop around the newer disc golf course, and a shorter loop through the center of the park, one can trek about 4 miles.  This time of year, the soft trail is muddy, but shallow and easily navigated. However, my family reports that it will become quite muddy later in the winter / early spring and waterproof shoes will make the way much easier then.

Conservation actions around the disc golf course.
