This was a great hike through wooded/forested area, then opens up to grassy and open space with new growth and tons of views. Past the power line, you have an excellent view of Rainier.
We passed around 9 groups of hikers on a nice Saturday morning during the 2.5 hours on the trail. It was not a busy trail, but was nicely maintained. There was a downed tree at about 1.5 miles that required climbing over or under. Minimal mud (though it's been a bit drier the few days leading up to the hike).
