The trail was wet, as expected, but there is a new major washout about 3 miles is that is more or less impassable. We went as far as Big Creek falls but most won’t be able to make it past the washout, which is before Otter Falls. See my Strava track for pics and videos.

It would have been nice if you could post some of the pictures here, as Strava won't let me see them without signing up.

Good to know. I mostly took videos because it does the best job of showing the conditions but you cannot upload them here. I added a few photos, including one of the washout, but it does not do it justice. Happy trails!

I'm surprised that this is the creek that was most impacted. Were the other creek crossings impacted? Older photos from my hikes up there showed that this one had blown out before, but a long time ago. Maybe it was in the 2006 or 2009 big floods. Here's a photo of what it looked like in 2017 (if WTA allows this link to stay) https://www.flickr.com/photos/mvanderbilt/54985676092/in/album-72157691062600195

Agreed and, no, there were no other impacts that we came across. I wanted to go further on this trip but just ran out of time. Will be interesting to see what happened beyond Big Creek and the Nordrum Lake junction.
