Samish Crest Open Space — Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2025

Last time we were here there was only an unmarked user built trail but now there's a nicely developed trailhead with shoulder parking. The main trail is a wide, hard packed surface with many muddy side trails to explore. We took the first trail right, next trail left, next trail right, then second trail right to reach an old service road which turning left leads to a view of Bellingham Bay. I've been on another trail in the past that has a view of the Twin Sisters. Caltopo.com is a good place to download a map. This open space is in ongoing development. It's a good, close in leg stretcher.
