We arrived at the trailhead around 11:30am and there were three other cars in the parking lot. There was a dusting of snow, but we had no issues driving.
We hiked 2.9 miles in before turning around, so I can only speak to that much of the trail: much of the trail was muddy, so I recommend waterproof hiking boots. The bridges are slippery so keep a hand on the rail and go slowly. When we reached the 2.9 mile mark, the trail turned into a flowing stream and a few big trees had fallen all over the trail, which made it hard to go further. The snow also started to get more substantial on the ground. A group going in the opposite direction told us it was passable but we decided to turn around. It snowed gently on our way back.
We got back to our car around 3pm, the only car left. 5.75mi total according to my Gaia app. Beautiful winter day hike!
