Mount Christoff — Saturday, Dec. 27, 2025

Had a great time hiking halfway up to Christophe Peak. Parked on highway 410/slippery Creek Road at 1:15pm and walked for about 30 minutes and 2 miles to the trailhead. From the beginning, the trail climbed up up up. Stopped at the first lookout for a beautiful winter view and continued up. By 3:00pm I was at the abandoned road crossing, which was my turnaround time. Made it back to my vehicle in about an hour and a half. The Forest Road walk was bare, but snow began at the trailhead and got deeper as I progressed. I would not recommend doing this without micro spikes— thin snow over steep sections making for perfect sliding condition. The trail is in great condition and very enjoyable as it menders through the woods and changing forest types with view openings along the way. I don’t know what it’s like past the road crossing but I’ll be back to finish up.
