Great spot for a winter stroll with 3 generations of family (and all ability levels). The wind was a little biting but sunshine pretty welcome after days of rain. Spotted a harrier hawk and some other smaller songbirds.
Definitely recommend dropping into the interpretive center. The woman staffing (volunteering?) it made our visit something special — made us hot tea and cocoa (really helped us warm up after the cold walk), set us up with some coloring sheets for the kiddo (there’s a small kid corner) and taught us about the history of the wetlands. The building is spectacular and has some cool indoor and outdoor interpretation. My in-laws are excited to return.
