Beautiful hike that had some challenges. Let me start by saying that the first turn was a bit confusing between the signs, the trail review, and the trail. Basically, don't overthink it. Past that, the trail is lovely. It is steep in places, but no problems. The lookout was fantastic. I was able to sit up there alone and have a slice of birthday cake. It was quiet and peaceful. At times, the trail did seem a little long and I wished it was a tiny bit shorter. There were TONS of blueberries. People had canteens they were filling up. As a note, please be mindful if other folks are hoping to check out the lookout. On the way back, I thought, 'gee it would be fun to take the other trail.' So I did. However, I couldn't get any sense of how long it was and it turned into a whole thing. There is a super fun bridge and it is a lovely, if much less traveled path. Be prepared for some wayfinding/bushwacking in parts. Still, I recommend it. Just trust that it will work out. |
