Granite Mountain — Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2025

Snoqualmie Region > Snoqualmie Pass
Granite was a bit challenging today.
Road from highway to the TH is icy, be careful and use caution. Snow starts almost from the TH. Trail packed very well and sometimes slippery, I would recommend to use spikes to avoid slippage. As of today chutes crossing was fine, in my opinion it's not enough snow for avalanche (yet). After leaving the trees there is much more snow and it's deep! Bring your snowshoes! I didn't and I did regret. It was very very windy today which created a lot of wind accumulated snow making following existing trail very difficult. Ridge part was ok, trail wasn't buried and was packed well. Some postholing is possible on the ridge and after.
On my way down met group of 5, they were about to camp near the lookout, I hope it will work out for them. Also met bunch of people who turned around because of snow and wind.
