Trip Report

Langus Riverfront Park, Spencer Island — Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025

Puget Sound and Islands > Seattle-Tacoma Area
Langus Trail

Parked across from the animal shelter. Sandbags are blocking the boat ramp, but otherwise the parking lot is in fine shape. There's a porta-potty in front of the bathrooms (they are usually locked this time of year).

Walked the Langus trail to Spencer Island. Took the trail to the other side of Spencer and then looped back to the car on the road. The trail across Spencer was not muddy. I didn't believe the trail closed sign (along with many others), but found out.

A high berm has been built up along the river to reduce water damage during the recent floods. At one point the paved trail is covered completely in dirt and rocks. Not difficult walking if you have good balance. Sturdy shoes recommended. And I'm not recommending you walk past the trail closed sign, just letting you know.

It was such a beautiful walk to close out 2025.

wow - very good to know. Didn't realize that was one of the areas additional material was being topped onto existing levee. It's going to be a long time before that gets back to anything like what it had been. Thanks for the great report.
