Ancient Lakes — Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025

Conditions were good driving over the pass today. So nice to have blue sky and sunshine to end the year. The dirt road is in great shape. Drive with caution, we saw a dozen deer along the dirt road.
The trail is in great shape. Just a few frozen puddles and a couple of muddy spots that were a little slick in the sun.
It was impressive to see the high water level in all the lakes. The trail was submerged closest to the north lake.
We brought a thermos with hot soup which was perfect for lakeside lunch.

We found a nice blue coat for a little dog and left it in a dry spot between the honey buckets.
