Granite Creek Trail to Granite Lakes — Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026

Snoqualmie Region > North Bend Area

Couple quick updates since the previous report. Frost on the road, but no snow this morning. I was delighted to be the first one there at 7:30 am. Highly recommend microspikes....that nice layer of traction-y snow is now gone, and the trail was mostly ice. There are still some patches of bare ground all the way until the junction with Thompson Lake Trail. This does make wearing spikes occasionally annoying, but I was still very glad to be wearing them. Trail easy to follow all the way, and even over the boulders (care needed still!). Started running into people on the way back, around 10:30 am. Still not very crowded today! Happy New Year!
