To start the new year off right we decided to spend the first day of 2026 hiking along the east fork of the Lewis River. It was a drippy day so we elected to start/finish at the Hantwick Trailhead and walk to Moulton Falls and back. This is a wide, flat, gravel road that mostly travels along the south bank of the river. The river was running high but was still a beautiful clear dark opal color. Many people were out walking, biking and walking their dogs.
The route was clear with no no trees down or muddy sections.
Mileage: 6.02, EG: 226
