Chambers Bay Loop — Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026

Puget Sound and Islands > Seattle-Tacoma Area
Soundview Trail

My hiking group hiked the Chambers Bay Golf course loop today.  It was 45 degrees with light rain when we started out.  We meet at the SE parking area off Grandview Drive and 48th St W.  The Chambers Creek Regional Park is very well maintained and inviting.  The bathroom facility was great - open, clean and heated.  Starting counterclockwise, we headed down to the north meadow area to the Soundview trail switchbacks.  The rain started coming down in earnest when we took the bridge over the train tracks for a complete Soundview.  Trail traffic was light with a few local walkers and a small preschool group.  The sound birds were on display, we saw a bald eagle, large groups of ducks, geese and pigeons on the grasslands south of the dog park.  We stopped on the bridge and a train, tooted its horn to our delight.  It was fun to see the new lock pillar installment and Sasquatch scavenger hunt along the way.  After a soggy hike we grabbed lunch at the Chamber’s Bay Grill to warm up and dry out.  Another fantastic day out in nature with friends.
