This is the first time I have been on the Bogachiel River trail and I haven't seen any recent reports so I'm not certain how long many of the obstacles have been present. The road is in excellent shape except for the last two miles (unpaved forest service road) that has lots of potholes. Any car can get by if you take it slow. There was a lot of water and mud on the trail. There are several small trees down at a washout at 3.3 miles. It's a little dicey but is passable if you hold on to the tree branches. There is a steep slope going up from the river at 3.4 miles. There are two ropes both in good condition. At 3.6 miles a tree fell below the trail creating a rockfall. Again, easy to pass. Mosquito creek has overflowed and flooded the trail at about 3.7 miles. I had hoped to make it to Bogachiel Camp but stopped at Mosquito Creek since the crossing seemed too dicey for my comfort level. There is a log but it is narrow, slippery, angled upwards, and water surges over the first half. On my return I took the Ira Spring Trail. There are two down trees approximately at the halfway point that were a royal pain to climb over. I think the regular river trail is prettier than the Ira Spring loop.
