A really nice morning at Kukutali Preserve. We arrived just after 10 am. No other cars in the parking lot. Toilet was open and weather was cloudy and 57. A lot of driftwood has washed up on the shore and with that, litter. We started with the South trail which is muddy in a few places. Hiked out towards Flagstaff island and then back. We went down to the beach at the picnic area and explored around a little before heading back along the north trail. Daisies in bloom in the field at the picnic area. We collected all types of trash from in the the driftwood like bottles, candy wrappers, fishing line and even a yellow storage bin lid. Originally, I was only going to grab the fishing line and throw it away but my kids had fun searching through everything to see what they could find to help clean up this beautiful place. We always try to leave our favorite places a little better.
