Camano Island State Park — Thursday, Jan. 15, 2026

Not much to report, just a nice hike from woods to beach. Parked at the North parking lot, restrooms closed but there was a portapotty, OK not great. Hiked backwards from the way we normally do it, so up the Pipeline, to the Loop trail that follows the parameter of the park, then down to the beach and back along the Loop trail. There is work being done on the boat launch area, you can still back your boat down the cement launch, but the metal dock has been pulled and is just sitting there by a mound of dirt (??). Lots of places to eat, but windy, you'll want your extra layer. Clouds cleared out and the Olys were visible. Eagles chittering in the trees, a heron in the marsh and lots of little brown birds of various sorts.
