Edmonds Marsh — Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026

Puget Sound and Islands > Seattle-Tacoma Area
Mr. Junco stopped to say hello

Quick walk around the Edmonds Marsh trails as part of a larger walk around Edmonds Saturday morning in the sunshine.  There are no restrooms at the Marsh and parking is questionable so we find it easier to park along the waterfront (where free parking and restrooms are available) and just make the short walk over.  No specific trail issues though the boardwalk was icy.  Additionally, we continued via sidewalk up to the eastern side of the marsh to stop at the Willow Creek watershed education center area and the small but nice Susie Schaefer native plant garden.  Additionally, there is a small public trail that runs along the back side of the marsh just below the fancy condos up there that provides some additional views.

The area is a big birding location though pickings were a bit slim today with just some small winter birds like sparrows and juncos, some feisty over winter humming birds and some red winged black birds out today.  The area also frequently gets bald eagles, multiple different types of ducks and herons as well.  An easy little walk with some nice views and wildlife if you are in the area.
