Trail is in great shape. Just a little bit of mud and it’s mostly frozen. Dozens of robins and other little birds feasting on the leftover apples and pears in the orchard. Between the bluff and the beaver pond, we stopped to listen to a pair of pileated woodpeckers. Not sure if they were making noise because of us or because there was an owl. I’ve heard owls here so many times. This is the first time I saw one. Loving these crisp, sunny days!
