Snowshoe this was not. There were patches of snow that was slightly slushy and mostly not slippery. We wound up putting on spikes about a mile in, figuring the snow was going to become more consistent, but it was still patchy after that, and if you're reasonably sure on your feet you can probably make it in regular shoes/boots. The temperature was above freezing (37F at the parking lot according to my car), so there wasn't much ice (a couple of places where water had flowed along the trail). I suspect it would be significantly more slippery if it were below freezing.
The blowdowns recounted in the previous trip report are still there. We took a few branches off one of the more annoying crawl-unders to make it easier, but there's just a lot in a relatively short stretch of trail. Bad conditions for a poncho.
There's a gate just past Longmire for the way up toward Paradise that closed at 3pm for the way up and 4pm for the way down, so Longmire is a good choice of starting point if it's late in the day (like it was for us) as there aren't nightly closures on the way out. No snow at all on the road or in the parking lot (thanks to plowing; there were piles on the side in places).
