As many of you know, I am in charge of renovating the lookout on Kelly Butte. I went up saturday with 3 other volunteers and worked on the new deck. The flowers are waning but there are still paintbrush, pearly everlasting. The huckleberries are ripe here and there, but there are still plenty not yet ripe. A good haul can be had.
The new portion of the trail has been extensively reworked by trail crews from WTA. I would like to express my appreciation for the hard work it has taken to turn this trail from a very difficult to walk trail with large leaps between sections to a much more finished and WAY easier to walk trail. The work done was difficult as it was done in a gully, but the quality is there and the new stone steps are awesome. Thanks to all who made it that way. Those of us who go up often really appreciate your efforts!!!!
