North Cascades > Mountain Loop Highway

Woke up early and piled in the car There’s a drive ahead that’s almost too far Three Fingers Lookout, here I come Time for the MMM to have some fun At the trailhead, OBE is there Rockit and Jaded, as always a pair Plus some newbies along for the trip Heading up to the top of Three Finger’s tip The trail below is quite a sight Hard to not slip try as I might Soon we break out into the sun And climb up to Goat Flat but we’ve just begun Now comes the fun part, glaciers and rock Views are popping but they’re not going to stop Up and down the ridge, and then up some ice That view at the top had better be nice Okay, now the ladders, they creak a lot But I’m not hiking this far to stop at this spot The climb up is wild snapping pics as we go The glacier and rock are waiting below At the lookout, wow, what a sight to behold Views are all around, ridges big and mountains bold Too soon we go down, down the ladders to snow And glissade on our butts to the sharp rocks below Then the long walk out, we’re quiet, not talking I think everyone’s tired from a full day of walking Back to the cars which we greet with a cheer Now, Rockitbiker (bless him) breaks out the beer MidMountain Mountaineers it’s my kind of crew I’ll spend the day in the mountains anytime with you Until next time my friends, give the MMM a shout This really is what hiking’s all about
