Little Si is a wonderful quick, close in, all season hike that gains an easy 1000 feet in 2.1 miles. The trail is very well maintained and appears to benefit from improvements year after year. The trailhead is right off the Mt. Si road, is paved, and is equipped with a clean outhouse. After a short climb, the trail wanders through the forest between Little and Big Si where an abundance of ferns thrive. Around the north side the trail climbs gently up to a nice rocky peak with views over North Bend, Rattlesnake Ridge and up to the Haystack on Big Si. An additional nature trail off to the side wanders through a boulder field and connects to the old Big Si trail. There are 3 blowdowns just beyond .5 miles from the trailhead. The ground is bone dry and rock hard. No snow or water.
