Trip Report
Johnson Creek - Medra Pass — Friday, May. 14, 2010
Snoqualmie Region > Salmon La Sac/Teanaway
Twas a beautiful day for a jaunt up the Teanaway River Road (snow becomes an issue at milepost 7 on road 9737 from 29 Pines campground... had to help a forest service ranger out of the snow!).
After studying the map (Mt. Stuart Greens Trail map), my mother and I chose Johnson Medra Creek. It was a very slight incline and great for beginners. There are a couple small dead snags down over the trail in 3 place within the first 2 miles. Snowmelt has resulted in a swollen creek which the trail crosses at least three times.
We turned around after about 3 miles because we were just getting too damned tired of creek crossings and increasing snow on the trail, even though we had gaiters and snowshoes with us. Dairy Queen was sounding too good! Great hike, though! I definately want to go back after the snow is gone to adventure on further.
Happy travels!
