Annette Lake — Wednesday, Jul. 7, 2010

Snoqualmie Region > Snoqualmie Pass
Glorious!
Annette Lake is in perfect hiking condition right now. There are still small streams running for water if needed. The lake is beautiful. The waterfalls are running full. We got to the parking lot late, just after 11:00am. There were about a dozen other cars, but is certainly wasn't too busy. In fact, most of the people we saw were in larger groups, so we had plenty of solitude. The trail is pretty steep and rutted, which can be intense at times if you're carrying weight. All the bridges are in good shape. The last .75 mile is flat and slightly declining, but you have to work to get there. If you're hiking over the next few days, I highly recommend taking extra water or a purifier. It was hot even under the canopy. Saw lupine, trillium, young huckleberries. There are some very pesky critters up by the lake, so watch your food.
There are waterfalls back there, I promise.
