Trip Report

Little Si, Boulder Garden Loop — Thursday, Jul. 28, 2011

Snoqualmie Region > North Bend Area
Re-routed trail to Little Si goes more south on the final ascent. It is easier than before with fewer roots to scramble up. Overall the trail is in good condition, with a very few muddy spots- not a problem in my hiking boots. I took the Boulder Garden loop on the way back starting about .5 mail from the si trailhead and then looping back about .3 mile from the trailhead-- this 1.5 trail is in stellar shape and so lovely! I hadn't been on this trail before and was surprised by the elevation gain/loss-- not sure how much, but enough to get warm on the uphill stretch! The boulders are gorgeous. I think I found where the trail meets up with the old Si trail too-- a big junction with the signage just for the Boulder loop. There are bugs along the loop if you stay still too long. Didn't see anyone on the Boulder Garden loop but passed plenty of people on the Little Si trail.
