Forest Road #13 to Schriebers Meadow parking area has been recently graded. A hand-built seasonal bridge over Rocky Creek will keep hikers out of the water. I followed two sets of horse hoofprints up the trail and found them coming down just as I entered Morovitz Meadows. They were turned back by the snow and a single windfall on the Park Butte trail. I couldn't help but think that those two horses must have done a 100 times more damage to the trail than 50 foot travelers. The trail from Morovitz is 90% snow-covered, but there is a well-defined track with a few sections of dirt. At one point, it crosses bare heather slopes--just keep going straight and you'll find more bootprints. Poles would be good advice for this route, but as usual, many people coming after me were without. Don't expect solitude--just great views.
