Trip Report
North Creek Park Boardwalk — Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011

Went out to this place today since the weather was clear and fairly nice. There was no rain, so we decided to drive (only 20 minutes!!) to this location.
When driving there, you pass a construction site which makes you wonder if you are lost (No worries, you aren't!) There is a playground in great condition and a large parking lot. We got there in the afternoon there and there weren't many people at all!!
When you get to the trailhead, which many of you will notice that it is very easy to find, there is a sign stating that the boardwalk is closed to April due to the washouts and etc. Being the smart person I am, I trudged on. (ehehehe..... WEAK LAUGHTER)
The boardwalk was built beautifully and there is a sign after 5-10 minutes of walking that directs you to a "pond." There is no pond at all and the boardwalk is covered with water around that area. I advise you to ignore that sign and keep going if you want to, however, after 5 minutes of hiking, you reach a location where the boards have been softened by the water and I know of someone that slipped in that area. We all saw that so we decided to head back.... :/
Heading back was no problem at all - we all enjoyed the rare December sunshine although, I am almost certain, that we'll come back in the spring/summer to see what this place REALLLYYY looks like. When we went today, the reeds were yellow and everything was wet, yikes! D: I wouldn't advise you to come but come later.
:) Happy Holidays people.
