Trip Report

Little Mountain Park - Bonnie and Clyde Loop — Friday, Jan. 13, 2012

Puget Sound and Islands > Bellingham Area
Skagit Valley and the Olympics from Little Mountain summit.
Feeling OK the day after getting rear-ended on my way to hike the Index Town Wall; I went to my chiropractor in the morning to get checked and adjusted, and then I headed toward Mt. Vernon for a quick hike on Little Mountain. I did a loop hike from the summit down the Ridge Trail, across the Julieanne Trail, and back up one of the Loop Trails. There were a few hikers at the summit, but none on the trails. On the way home I stopped for a short hike at Big Ditch Slough hoping to see a Snowy Owl. There was someone target shooting, so there wasn't a bird of any kind to be seen. However, the views of the Sound and the mountains were nice. It felt good to hike. I'm glad the accident didn't take me out of service for more than a day.
Old safe alongside the Julieanne trail.
Mt. Baker from the paraglider viewpoint near the summit of Little Mountain.
Big Ditch.
