It would've helped if our group payed closer attention to the direction details, as on two occasions we walked passed key points. First, we missed the unmarked trailhead and then later the Y in the trail (marked by rusty can in the snow) to the balcony. Guess we were enjoying the conversations a bit too much instead of navigation ;) The lower portion of the trail is intermittent with water down it. Upper portion still have snow. Thankfully it was compact enough so very little post-holing occurred. No one used microspikes/snowshoes, yet the traction was manageable. Views from the balcony were great. Although there was a lot of wind, which made lunch in the sun a bit cold.
