This is a worth while trip for the name alone DIRTY HARRY'S PEAK gotta love it.
An old logging road is you means of accessing Harry's peak and when I say old I mean OLD!! Boulders and trees dot the path and you will have to mind your ankles in order to avoid ruining your hike. There was a light rain which made the already wet rout a regular stream for much of the trip (bring waterproof boots). When the water finally relents you find yourself in snow, (no crampons or snowshoes necessary)a welcome change from the boulders. The trail becomes a bit overgrown at this point but there are enough old and muddy bootprints for you keep on the path and make you way through. Harry's summit doesn't quite clear the tree line so the views are limited but beautiful non the less. This is a great training hike with little foot traffic and of course when its over you'll be able to say you conquered Dirty Harry's filthy Peak :) (trekking poles advised especially for the trip down)
