Sherman Peak Loop — Thursday, Jul. 12, 2012

Eastern Washington > Okanogan Highlands/Kettle River Range
Sherman MT.
Hiked the Sherman Mountain loop trail south of Sherman Pass. There are 15 downed trees across the trail. All are easy to go over or around, and most are old snags from the White Mt. fire on the east side of the loop. Otherwise the trail is in good shape. This is a fun moderate loop of about 5-6 miles with about 1800 in elevation gain and loss. Wildflower are out and will soon be at there peak. Bring plenty of water and sunscreen. It was 80 degrees plus and there is little shade. Great views and solitude. I saw no people and there was only one other car at the trail head.
