We started at Carbon River Ranger Station and walked since I was the only one with a mountain bike. Definitely recommend a bike to get to Ipsut Campground. It was a beautiful day, the wildflowers were out, the currents were ripe. Even found a few Huckleberries. The bridge, as always was scary to get out on, but worth the view and experience. Stopped at Ipsut falls and Chenuis Falls on the way out. Total of 23.6 miles and about 4000 gain. But, as always, Mt. Rainier trails are in wonderful condition.

Arin,
This report as well as your report on hiking the west side of Mt. Rainier were terrific reports. Can I assume that both involved a night of camping? Anne

Anne,
Thank you for your note! No, I had not yet tried backpacking. Trying to start that this year. Have a great summer. Arin
