Got out to the trail in the afternoon, hot, late summer Thursday. Hiked in, and up to Trout Lake where we set up camp. Conditions for everything was great. Weather was hot, and the area had clearly been dry for more than a month. Woke up early the next morning, and headed up the trail to Little Heart. Again, conditions were great, this is one of my favorite hike locations. Hiked back down to Copper, and Malachite Lakes to go swimming. Found great spots to enter the lake for a swim. Water was refreshing in the heat, and actually wasn't too cold for a mountain lake. Didn't go fishing, but saw plenty of fish jumping, and there were some other hikers out there fishing (seemed to be catching too). Returned to Trout that night, and left first thing the next morning. Bugs were minimal, water access was perfect. No campfires, enjoy. Made a slideshow of some of the hike, which I had fun making, so I might do a few more - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HqoNKc7SfVU
