Trip Report

Shadow of The Sentinels — Friday, Nov. 2, 2012

North Cascades > Mount Baker Area
Boardwalk Trail in the Shadow of the Sentinels
After finishing Sulphur Creek Falls hike I went for a drive up Baker Lake Road to Kulsan Creek Campground and across Baker Dam and back. I then headed north up Baker Lake Road and stopped to hike a short hike called Shadow of The Sentinels on my #45th hike this year. This is a handicap access trail that has downed trees on it so no wheelchair access until the trees get cleared. This is a short trail with signs on it telling the story of the forest and the wildlife that lives among these old growth trees. Several of The Douglas Furs are estimated to be over 600 years old. A nice leisurely hike for family or anyone wanting a little education about the forest with some nice fall colors. I have included a video of the whole trail so check it out on my youtube channel at lmm3181 or click on this direct link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oOedUcIFgiw As always get out and see this beautiful state and enjoy your hiking! Take Care Mike
