Trip Report

Artist Point Snowshoe — Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012

North Cascades > Mount Baker Area
Good example of conditions found below the lower ski area's parking lot.. lots of powder
This weekend marked my first foray into snowshoeing, and boy was it a good time. Drove up 542 with a few coworkers on Sunday to the lower ski area's parking lot, and trekked down from there for a mile or two. Next day, on Monday, drove up with a group of about a dozen, and made the trip all the way up to Artist Point. Conditions were rather cloudy so the views were a tad limited, but with all the fresh powder, it was one heck of a good time.. one hell of a good workout, too! We all had a blast, and I'll certainly be back for more in the very near future.
Setting out for Artist Point
No blue skies to be found this trip
Break time somewhere above the upper parking lot
