Puget Sound and Islands > Whidbey Island
Bluff trail at Ebey's Landing
What a gorgeous hike! We lucked out and our hike was sunny and gorgeous the entire time. The entire trail was dry and well-maintained. Only very slight elevation at the very beginning, and if you choose to hike back up to the trail from the beach. We opted to take the bluff trail out, then the get back to the car via the beach. So many beautiful views of the lagoon, the mountains, the ocean, the islands, and sunsets over every mountain range on our way back. Our dog came with and was able to frolic on the beach and swim in the ocean. Given the easy proximity from Seattle (1.5 hours including the Mukilteo ferry, I was stunned by the lack of crowds on a sunny day - there were definitely other hikers, but we never felt crowded at all.
Sunset on Mt. Baker on the way back to the car
