Heather - Maple Pass Loop — Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013

Began hike shortly after 9am. Chances of rain on and off for the duration of the trip, but nothing came of it. Trail is in good shape, but VERY busy. This is a trail runner's paradise, even though I am not one myself. Lots of mosquitoes at the top, so bring your bug spray. Overall, a very challenging climb for an amateur like me. The views throughout this hike are the best I've experienced so far. I regret not making the side trip to Lake Lewis, but made up for the loss with a climb up the first ridge of Frisco Mountain. I would highly recommend traveling counter-clockwise on this loop!
