Wildside Trail-De Leo Wall, Coal Creek Falls — Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013

Issaquah Alps > Cougar Mountain
the view off De Leo wall over the Renton highlands towards the Cascades
Hiked the De Leo Wall loop with a side trip to Coal Creek falls Sunday morning from the Red Town trail head. Route followed - Wildside trail, right on Marshall's Hill trail, across the water tank access road to the De Leo Wall trail, back along Indian Trail, right onto Quarry Trail, left on Coal Creek Falls trail then back around via Cave Hole trail. This is a beautiful loop hitting two of Cougar Mt's best sights. One word of caution - the trail out along the De Leo Wall view points is a steep drop off so you might leave the dogs and little ones home if you plan to do that section. The views off De Leo are always good even if there is some cloud cover and the falls, while not huge, is really neat because you can get so close. One of my favorite close in hikes. the trail along the top of the wall - watch your step, it's a long way down!
