Green Mountain - Gold Creek Trail — Tuesday, Mar. 11, 2014

Olympic Peninsula > Kitsap Peninsula
Here is a view from the top.
What an awesome day to do this hike. Yesterday was raining and thundering but today was bright and sunny. I have been suffering from some bad cabin fever, but this hike was just what the doc ordered! Beautiful, clear trail. Minor issue of small streams of water running down the trail in a couple spots, nothing that got through my hiking boots. This trail is well maintained, decent elevation gain up for a day hike, going from rocky to forest and back. There is a way to drive to the top, but taking the Gold Creek or longer Wildcat trail up, are far more gorgeous and fulfilling. Great views, sunny weather, and a good spot to eat lunch at the top are well worth this great NW hike.
This is a pic of the map located at the top of the trail. Shows a couple of the different trails.
Halfway up, good rest place with a wooden bench fixed into the side of the trail.
