Westport State Park - Westport Light Trail — Tuesday, Apr. 1, 2014

Southwest Washington > Long Beach Area
Ocher sea star on beach access of the Dunes Trail.
At the far west end of town, just across the street from the Islander Hotel is an observation tower. At its base begins the Westport Light Trail, also known to locals as "the Dunes Trail." About 2.5 paved miles and liberally provisioned with commemorative stone benches, it follows the coast south, through Westhaven Park to the Westport Lighthouse, which is open mid-morning for tours. Make it a 5 mile round trip and return to Float 14 for daily spring whale-watching tours on the Ranger out of Ocean Sportfishing Charters. Excellent seafood dinners can be had at the Fish Shack and the Blue Buoy.
