Peshastin Pinnacles State Park — Saturday, May. 17, 2014

Central Cascades > Leavenworth Area
Cool rocks!
Do not ignore this State Park! Pull off the highway and take a short stroll on easy switchbacks to the top of the hill. The view is spectacular for the time spent walking. A lot shortcut trails have been made by people ignorant of the harm they're doing. Ignore these and take the pleasant zig-zag path up. We saw people floating the Wenatchee River, a guy climbing one of the pinnacle rocks, a marmot keeping watch, large birds of prey soaring around, snow-capped peaks, TONS of flowers in bloom, and a rock that looked like a face. Easy walk on steep terrain. It was breezy and the trail was rock hard. Be careful of slipping when you encounter loose sand over the trail, and please don't take the shortcuts tails.
Rock that looks like a face.
Nice view.
What is it? Broad-leaved penstemon? The leaves are VERY saw-toothed. Any help identifying is appreciated.
