Discovery Park Loop Trail — Saturday, Jun. 7, 2014

Another glorious day to be out and about. Started at Magnolia Park and walked the bluff along Magnolia Blvd towards Discovery Parks. A sail boat race must have been going along because there were plenty of them there down below us. The gardens and homes along this street are magnificent to say the least.
Once at Discover Park we did the 2.8 mile Loop trail around the park. The trail is in great condition and there were many people and dogs out for an afternoon stroll although it never felt too crowded.
I love the gnarly maple trees and it was cool walking through the forested trail after the sunny exposed sidewalk of Magnolia Blvd. One minor blowdown that was easily skirted, other than that trail is in great condition. The the walk along the bluff has gorgeous views. Didn't go down towards the the lighthouse and beach today just stayed on the upper loop.
Plenty of beauty surround us the entire way. About 7 miles RT with very little elevation gain. A great urban hike.
