Had a great hike to the lookout today. Road in decent shape to the trailhead, I got my golf there no problem. Patchy snow (1-2' deep) from the junction with the Nason ridge trail to below the summit of Round Mountain. Clear again to the next saddle then the trail was mostly snow covered (2-4') until the final saddle before the climb to the lookout. The trail was a bit hard to follow in some sections due to the snow but you can't really go too wrong on a ridge. The snow stayed relatively firm throughout the day and I only postholed a few times. The views were amazing! Also really cool geology. It seems the rocks have quite a lot of mica and the dirt and rocks were sparkling away in the sunlight. Seemed like the only water source was a spring toward the beginning of the hike so just a reminder to bring water or fill up here.
